BRANDING AND THE NEW IVY LOGO

After 14 years in business, Ivy has a new logo. Why an arrow? What’s the point?

It’s about movement, a result, taking action, a direction. Ivy is a catalyst for change. Ivy will move the needle. It’s why we started the company in the first place.

For years I found myself drawing arrows as I sat brainstorming in meetings. The arrows triggered my thinking. They reminded me to move away from my current point of reference. My constant challenge was to think outside the box. Our new brand incorporates the arrow. Our new logo is a reminder to think outside the box, to move, expect results and drive action.

The diversity journey has evolved. Starting with affirmative action, EEO, and compliance, it then moved to a greater focus on self examination. You either had to do it, or you had to understand how you felt about doing it. The next level of the journey focuses on the business case and the impact diversity has on the organization. This new focus builds on the connection between workforce (the people we hire), workplace (the environment we create for them) and the marketplace (the customers and stakeholders). It connects diversity to the core of the business. Everything we do as a firm is designed to enhance our client’s ability to implement diversity this way.

Our vision for Ivy is to achieve business success through an unwavering belief that a more diverse team will outperform a less diverse team…understanding that every individual contributes to that diversity. Our mission for Ivy is to assist our clients in realizing their success through the adoption of our vision statement as their own. We understand that we must first meet them where they are, and support them in a way that does not seek to judge them.

Why brand Ivy? We became frustrated with being a firm with such an amazing list of clients, skills and project experience, and yet unknown by many companies who could benefit from the Ivy experience. Our objective is big: to ensure that every organization that makes a diversity decision is aware of the capabilities of Ivy Planning Group. The process has involved looking inward. It has also included asking clients, “Why Ivy?”The Ivy logo symbolizes our next journey, one started 14 years ago that continues to carry the best of who we are, while understanding that we had to change in order to keep being great.

We hope you like the new look. To the companies that have selected Ivy over the last 14 years,“THANK YOU!”

To the companies that will select us in the future, “Welcome.”
